The 100% chance of rain in the forecast just 3 days early found the odds dropping drastically. The revised forecast called for rain until 11 AM and then sun. That sports fans is exactly what happened.

 

 

ROUND ONE OF ELIMINATIONS

 

Dunlap's opponent was Dave Hirata in Dale Surh's Iowa based fueler.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dunlap left first by a bunch (0.053 to a 0.146) and never looked back.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dunlap had a commanding lead by the 330' timing blocks.

 

Hirata's engine started going away at the 1000' mark.

 

 

Dunlap made a full pull to a sterling 5.729 at 255.19 (top speed of the meet) while Hirata trailed with a shut-off early 6.037 at 197.48.

 

 

 

Shelar leads the truck to the topend.

 

 

ROUND TWO OF ELIMINATIONS

 

In round two Dunlap faced the formidable Dusty Green in the Nitro Hemi car out of Denver, CO.
