With the sun setting
in the west, it was time to roll for for a meeting with Mr. Young.
As it should be on paper, the
final matched the #1 and #2 qualifiers, Mendy Fry and Jim Young.
This was a coin toss.

Young left first leaving
Fry to play catch-up.
Young still had the lead
at the 330' mark.
Before the 1/8th mile
blocks Young got out of the groove but never lifted.
Young's tire tracks tell
the tale.
This race was closer than the
numbers suggest. Once again the fans who stayed witnessed one
of the best NTF races of the year. With the win Fry added another
notch in the High Speed Motorsports pistol grip being the 5th
team driver to win an unprecedented 8 NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion
Top Fuel title.
